AppTape collects nothing. No analytics, no telemetry, no identifiers, no accounts, no crash reporting, no network requests of any kind.

Recordings you make are written directly to your own Mac, in ~/Music/AppTape. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or accessed by us — we couldn't see them if we wanted to.

AppTape uses macOS's Screen & System Audio Recording permission because that is the permission Apple's ScreenCaptureKit requires for capturing another app's audio. AppTape only ever captures audio, and only while you are actively recording. It never records your screen, camera, or microphone.

Since no data is collected, there is nothing to sell, share, retain, or delete. If this policy ever changes, the change will be published on this page before it takes effect.
