AppTape collects nothing. No analytics, no telemetry, no identifiers, no accounts, no crash reporting, and no network requests of any kind.
Recordings you make are written directly to your own Mac, in a folder you choose. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or accessed by us — we couldn't see them if we wanted to.
AppTape uses macOS's Screen & System Audio Recording permission because that is the permission Apple's ScreenCaptureKit requires to capture another app's audio. AppTape only ever captures audio, and only while you are actively recording. It never records your screen, camera, or microphone.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.
This website (not the app) uses self-hosted, cookie-less Umami analytics to count anonymous, aggregate page views. It stores no cookies, collects no personal information, and never follows you across sites. The app itself makes no network requests at all.
Since no data is collected, there is nothing to sell, share, retain, or delete. If this policy ever changes, the change will be published on this page before it takes effect.
